This necklace is handcrafted using round blue lace agate and freshwater pearls. Each bead has been placed between a small pale blue glass bead to create a single strand necklace which measures some 48cm from clasp to clasp at its greatest.

This is a one off piece of jewellery so you can be confident that no one else will have the same design.

What is a Freshwater Pearl?

Freshwater pearls are created by using freshwater mussels in lakes, rivers and ponds. Most freshwater pearls on the market today come from rivers and lakes in China, although USA and Japan have a small fraction of the market. A freshwater mussel can have up to 50 pearls at a time (compared to the two to five pearls that saltwater oysters can contain).

What is Blue Lace Agate ?

Blue Lace Agate is a variety of banded Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. It is usually banded in layers of predominantly light blue, striped with brighter blues, whites, and even brown threads of color.
